Charitable Foundation «Kvitna»
The Charitable Foundation Kvitna provides informational and educational programs aimed at reducing the incidence and mortality of breast cancer in Ukraine. According to the world practice, annual examination, screening by a mammologist and regular self-examination are the only ways to prevent and timely diagnose breast cancer – the oncological disease #1 among women.
95% of cases are curable in a timely manner.
The health of a woman is the foundation of the well-being of any society. Health and safety, reproductive health of women these issues today are the cornerstone of Ukrainian society. Cancerous diseases of women today are the first in the structure of all cancer diseases in Ukraine. Every day, 18 women in Ukraine die of breast cancer. Ukraine ranks first in female mortality among European countries.
If to define the causes of such situation, experts (medical workers, representatives of public organizations) emphasize the main reasons – late diagnosis of breast cancer and neglect of illness, insufficient attention to the prevention of diseases and irresponsible attitude to health. For example, according to the National Health Index 2016, only 19% of Ukrainian women visit mammals for the prevention of breast diseases. Compared with the prevalence of the disease, such data indicate society lack of attention to the prevention of diseases.
According to Charitable Kvitna Foundation – women should be sure that the responsibility of their health rests to them and safety and self-care are not the last factors in preventing diseases. At 95% with early diagnosis and screening, deaths associated with breast cancer can be avoided.
Based on these data, the Charitable Kvitna Foundation initiated programmes to encourage Ukrainian women to visit a mammal for the purpose of screening and timely detection of mammary pathologies. According to the founder of the Foundation, Yuriel Stern, the proper information and motivation of women to come for screening will reduce the level of mortality associated with breast cancer.
The Charitable Kvitna Foundation is convinced that social advertising and teaching is an effective and powerful tool in the prevention of diseases.

Day M is one day a year can save your life. The day when every woman puts off everything and visits a mammologist to keep the most important – her health.
As practice shows, there are several major barriers that prevent Ukrainians from visiting their doctors on time to prevent diseases: Ignorance; Fear; Priority of other tasks, cases.
Throughout the life, women repeat the same actions – work, cleaning, manicure, training, hair removal – the list of cases forms the system. Ukrainians need to enter a visit to a mammologist to the system of their affairs. Nothing bad will happen unless you do a manicure, cook dinner, carry a deadline. And taking a mammologist can save your life.
According to the world practice, the annual examination, screening of a mammologist and regular self-examination are the only ways of preventing and timely diagnosis of breast cancer – the oncological disease #1 among women. 95% of cases are curable in time. The statistics in Ukraine are quite different. Every year, about 15,000 Ukrainian women learn about their diagnosis of breast cancer. And almost 50% of patients die. The reason is a late visit to the doctor, when the disease is already in advanced stages and gave metastases. Our women should not die of a completely curable disease! The solution is simple and complex at the same time. Women should be informed and educated about their own health and care.
That is why we created simple and vivid storylines for Day M. Simply placing social advertising in places where women spend a lot of time can save their lives. But we need financial help to place this advertisement all over Ukraine.
Promise yourself to take care of yourself
“Promise yourself to take care of yourself” is a social campaign designed to draw public attention to the problem of breast cancer in Ukraine. The main goal of the project is a healthy and happy Ukrainian woman. To save one life means to save all mankind. But you need to save others, starting with yourself. That is why the project is called: Promise yourself to take care of yourself.
The aim of the project is to form a culture of breast cancer prevention in Ukraine and to teach women to take care of their health before thunder strikes. “Go to the mammologist – save your life!” – the main message of the project. By visiting a doctor only once a year, every Ukrainian woman can detect the disease at an early stage, cure it and live a happy healthy life – without breast cancer. Cancer is curable if detected in time!
Famous Ukrainian women have already taken part in it and continue to take part in it. Our stars show by their own example that it is important to take care of yourself and get tested. It’s not scary, it needs to be done regularly and by everyone. Each of the project participants is an idol for one or another Ukrainian woman, so their messages often work better than doctors’ recommendations.
